Former Italian defender Giancarlo Oddi has pushed for Lazio to move on following the hefty UEFA Champions League defeat to FC Bayern Munich.

Lazio had an underwhelming performance in its Champions League first leg fixture against Bayern. Defensive miscues from the Italian side gifted Bayern with a boatload of golden goal-scoring opportunities. The reigning Bundesliga winners took advantage by scoring four goals in the match.

Even with the disappointing result for the Biancocelesti, Oddi notes that there is still much to play for over the remainder of the season, especially in Serie A play. The former Italian defender spoke (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) on his overall thoughts with Lazio’s showing against Bayern.

I believe that Lazio must not believe they are the one from yesterday. They must believe in their qualities. They have to be aware that they are a strong team; they have to prove it on the field.

Now they need to turn the page and focus on the championship because it’s important to recover points.

Lazio will now have an upcoming league fixture against Bologna. The Biancocelesti still has a serious shot at making a top-four run in the league standings this season.
