Ciro Immobile’s Goal-Scoring Drought Hits Four Fixtures: The Longest Since 2019

Lazio’s previous five fixtures have seen the squad only four goals. Furthermore, the last time Simone Inzaghi’s side scored more than one goal in a match was in late January against Atalanta BC.

One of the issues, or perhaps the primary concern, is that Lazio isn’t getting much production from their superstar striker Ciro Immobile. Corriere dello Sport notes that the 31-year-old hasn’t scored in his last four fixtures for the Biancocelesti

The last time Immobile went through this patch of a cold streak in the goal-scoring department was in December 2019. If these last four fixtures have shown, Lazio relies heavily on Immobile to put the ball in the back of the net.

Also, the addition of Vedat Muriqi to compliment Immobile in providing goals hasn’t gone exactly as planned this season. Meanwhile, the other striker on the squad, Felipe Caicedo, hasn’t scored since early January in Lazio’s fixture against Parma.

If Lazio is to compete for a top-four spot in Serie A, they need Immobile to break out of his goal-scoring slump.
