Former Italian midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro has provided insight on Lazio’s recent form in all competitions as of late.

Lazio is now on the heels of losing three of its last four matches, including the 3-1 Serie A defeat to Inter Milan. Several players on the team have lost a bit in form, including Ciro Immobile. The Italian forward is currently on a four-match goalless streak.

Di Gennaro notes Lazio’s recent up-and-down form. As he detailed (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), he sees an issue of balance within the team.

When you concede more goals, you have to score more and it becomes difficult. Hoedt and Musacchio are not Radu and Luiz Felipe. Lazio creates less also because they are beginning to be known.

Every now and then, we could vary the tactical set-up to be less predictable. Small adjustments can be found, but it is important to adjust the defense. The difference is also made by the adaptability of the players.

Lazio is just coming off of a difficult loss to Bologna in Serie A play. Di Gennaro sees that this match was one in which the side could not afford to drop points in.

Matches, especially in this period, depend on episodes. The defeat in Bologna is more serious and may weigh more, even though the team is still in the running for the Champions League.

Lazio will now head towards an upcoming league fixture against Torino.
