Lazio’s Manuel Lazzari Sidelined Due to Calf Injury Suffered Against Bologna

Lazio wing-back Manuel Lazzari may have suffered a calf strain in the 2-0 loss to Bologna on Saturday, which could force him to the sidelines for around 20 to 30 days.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian wing-back came off at the end of the first half against the Rossoblu on Saturday, complaining of some pain in his leg.

Whilst it initially appeared to be a simple knock, it now seems as if the former SPAL man may have suffered a calf strain.

He will undergo decisive medical examinations later today, and if the muscle injury is confirmed, then coach Simone Inzaghi would be without Lazzari for around 20 to 30 days.

This would force the 27-year-old Italian to miss the upcoming matches against Juventus and Bayern Munich, a frustrating reality for both player and coach.

Lazzari has made 27 appearances across all competitions so far this season for a total of 2045 minutes, scoring one goal and providing five assists in that time.
