Italian Lawyer Capello on Lazio-Torino: “The Process Will Be the Same as for Juventus-Napoli”

Lazio has, for the moment, been awarded a 3-0 win over Torino. The two sides were set to face off in a key league fixture, but with Torino still in quarantine due to a coronavirus outbreak within the team, the team no-showed the fixture.

Italian lawyer Pierfilippo Capello provided a glimpse (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) on what may come following this decision by the league.

The process will be the same as for Juventus and Napoli.

The league does not want to make it clear that if someone prevents you from playing, a postponement is immediately necessary. The circumstance must be exceptional, so the league wants the judge to say that it is possible not to play. And in the appeal, Torino will assert its reasons.

The principle that whoever does not play is punished must remain. And I personally believe that the principle of the league is right. If a club is right, the sports justice system will take its course.

Lazio will now move on ahead to its next fixture against Juventus.
