Lazio’s Serie A clash against Torino will go ahead as scheduled this evening, despite the Granata’s requests for postponement due to many positive cases of Covid-19 in the squad.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, sources close to Lega Serie A have stated that the match between the Biancocelesti and the Granata will still go ahead as planned this evening.

Urbano Cairo’s team are currently missing eight players who have tested positive for the English variant of Covid-19, and already had their match against Sassuolo on the weekend postponed until next month.

If Torino fail to turn up to the Stadio Olimpico this evening, then Lazio would be awarded a 3-0 win, with a possible penalty for the Granata.

The Turin-based side could then look to appeal and have a good chance at winning that, due to the precedent set in the Juventus vs Napoli incident in the first half of the season.
