Torino President Cairo: “Only Logical Consequence Was to Postpone Game Against Lazio”

Torino president Urbano Cairo highlighted his desire to appeal against any possible sanctions for the Granata’s failure to travel to Rome for today’s match against Lazio.

Speaking with Italian news outlet ANSA earlier today, the Torino president discussed the Covid-19 situation and their failure to attend today’s match.

The league cannot be defended by not taking note of the objective reality, a reality that says we cannot move or leave the city.

It is all so logical that one plus one equals two, here instead, to get to two you have to make who knows how many steps. The only logical consequence was to postpone the game. Now we are waiting for the decision of the sporting judge.

It is clear that we will appeal. We will make all possible appeals.

For now, Lazio have been awarded a 3-0 win by default, but the decision could change considering the precedent set by the Juventus v Napoli case earlier this season.
