Lazio is just days removed from its 2-0 Serie A loss to Bologna.

The fixture itself was marred with missed opportunities. The Biancocelesti found ways to string together goal-scoring chances, but in the end, the side struggled to score a single goal against a side that is currently in the midst of a relegation battle.

Former Italian defender Gabriele Podavini watched as Lazio put together a lowly showing, which came after its loss to FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.

Podavini spoke further (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) about Lazio’s overall performance against Bologna.

Like a boxer who has taken the knockout and has not recovered, I saw a clumsy Lazio, unloaded, certainly not having digested the defeat to Bayern.

It’s a pity but it happens, that match was very emotional.

Lazio will now look towards an upcoming league fixture against Juventus.
