Lazio Wing Back Lazzari Out for at Least 2 Weeks After Suffering Calf Injury

Lazio wing back Manuel Lazzari will be out for at least two weeks after suffering a calf injury against Bologna last weekend.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian wing back underwent medical tests at the Paideia clinic yesterday, which ruled out a strain but highlighted an elongation in his right calf.

Lazzari will now be out for around two weeks, certainly missing the upcoming matches against Juventus and Crotone, although he’ll work hard to be fit in time for the Champions League Round of 16 return leg against Bayern Munich, which is scheduled for the 17th March.

The 27-year-old Lazzari has made 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2135 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided six assists.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva’s condition also needs to be assessed fully, after suffering from a strong challenge in training this week. He will be monitored over the coming days, although he’s not likely to miss this weekend’s clash against Juventus.
