Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard On Track to be Available for UCL Return Fixture Against Lazio

Benjamin Pavard had missed FC Bayern Munich’s last couple of matches due to a positive coronavirus test. The French defender was subjected to a coronavirus self-isolation period, which kept him out of fixtures such as the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg bout against Lazio.

Pavard did make his return to training on Wednesday. The Bayern defender took part in an individual training session ahead of the team’s Bundesliga showdown against Borussia Dortmund.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, all signs point to Pavard being available for the Champions League return fixture against Lazio in a couple of weeks.

Pavard is expected to make his return to action before the match against the Biancocelesti. From there, Bayern manager Hansi Flick may likely elect to choose between Pavard or Niklas Sule for the starting right-back role in the return match.

Pavard has so far totaled for 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
