Pirlo’s options in midfield include Weston McKennie, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, but the Italian coach wants a more balanced midfield, and so is thinking of starting the 20-year-old Fagioli.
The Italian midfielder, who can play as a regista, has made 13 appearances for the Under-23 squad so far this season, for a total of 890 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided one assist.
