Ciro Immobile’s Goal-Scoring Drought Hits Five Fixtures as Lazio’s Losing Skid Continues

Late January continues to be the last time in which Lazio scored more than one goal in a match. The Biancocelesti’s offensive struggles to find the back of the net are traced to the drought that striker Ciro Immobile is currently enduring.

The 31-year-old has gone the last five fixtures without a goal per Lazio Page; with Immobile struggling to find the back of the net, it’s no surprise that Lazio can’t put more than one goal up in matches.

The striker is enduring his most challenging stretch in two years; from April to May 2019, Immobile went through a similar goal drought where he went nine fixtures without a strike. Nonetheless, this current poor run in form couldn’t come at a worse time.

Lazio is in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and fighting for a top-four position in Serie A. Furthermore, with the Rome-based club’s defense leaking goals, they need to score more than one goal per game.

Without Immobile consistently scoring, Lazio’s losses are beginning to compile; hopefully he is able to end this goal-scoring drought against Crotone this week.
