Former Italian goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani highlighted Lazio’s defensive issues as of late.

Lazio battled against Juventus in their recent Serie A encounter. But in the end, it was Juventus that took advantage of several Lazio defensive miscues to score a trio of unanswered goals in the match en route to a 3-1 win.

Lazio has now allowed 35 goals in league play so far this season, which is the second most behind Roma’s 38 for teams within the top seven of the league table.

As Marchegiani told Sky Sport (via Cittaceleste), Lazio has some serious defensive problems to manage.

The Biancocelesti didn’t quite figure out how to approach the game on Saturday. The match ended very early more due to Lazio’s demerits than for Juve’s merits; Lazio’s defensive problems are evident.

It sure will be interesting to see whether Lazio’s board has any plans to shore up the team’s defensive depth over the upcoming summer transfer window.
