Lazio defender Stefan Radu’s recovery is progressing well and he could be available for this week’s league clash against Crotone.

According to a report from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 34-year-old Romanian centre back has been working well in training lately and is expected to take part in full squad training later this week.

This comes as good news for Biancocelesti fans, who have seen their side slip into a defensive crisis in recent weeks, with performances from Mateo Musacchio, Wesley Hoedt and Patric being particularly questionable.

Injured Brazilian Luiz Felipe is still recovering from his ankle surgery and needs a few more weeks before he’ll be able to play again, most likely at the start of next month.

Radu, whose contract expires with Lazio in June, has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1427 minutes.

In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the side keep six clean sheets.
