Former Serie A Goalkeeper Braglia Believes That Ciro Immobile Deserved More Recognition for Winning the Golden Boot Last Season

Lazio forward Ciro Immobile is much deserving of garnering more recognition for winning the 2019/2020 Golden Boot award, claims former Serie A goalkeeper Simone Braglia.

Immobile scored 36 goals last season en route to claiming the Golden Boot award for the first time in his career. The Italian forward beat out the likes of Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski to clinch the historic award win.

Braglia notes just how historic Immobile’s campaign was and as he detailed to the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, the Lazio star deserves more credit for his grand showings last season.

One has never heard Immobile being talked about the way I have seen other players be talked about. If he had worn a different jersey, probably his award and his deeds in general would have been emphasized even more. It is strange that the critics do not take into consideration his value, he is a champion on the field and silent off it.

Immobile’s campaign is well up there in being among the greatest in Lazio’s history.
