Italian Journalist Cucchi: “Ciro Immobile Is Conquering a Place in Lazio’s History”

Italian journalist Riccardo Cucchi highlighted Lazio striker Ciro Immobile’s abilities and the prestige of the European Golden Boot award in Rome today.

Speaking at a ceremony in Campidoglio (via Lazio’s official website) earlier today, Cucchi touched upon the many important players who have won this award.

It gives me pleasure to be here with Ciro Immobile, he knows how much I have loved his football, since the days of Pescara, via Torino. Imagine my joy when, as a Lazio fan, I saw Ciro wearing the Biancocelesti shirt.

Eusebio, the Benfica champion, was the first to win this trophy in 1968, in between, big names like Müller, Van Basten, Ronaldo, Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi. Last year Immobile beat Messi and Lewandowski in this special ranking.

Lazio have had many great strikers in their history, starting with Silvio Piola and moving on to Giorgio Chinaglia. Ciro is conquering a place in Lazio’s history among many other greats like Signori, Bruno Giordano, Rocchi and Puccinelli. Ciro is there, great among the greats.

Immobile is an extraordinary striker, he scores in every way, right-footed, left-footed and headers and from every side of the pitch. He’s also not selfish, he provides assists for his teammates, he fights, defends and runs. For you, I’m always ready to cheer, whether it’s in the Azzurri shirt, or with the eagle on your chest.
