Lazio Defender Luiz Felipe Expected to Return to the Squad Next Month

Lazio expect Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe to return to the squad next month after he recovers from his ankle surgery.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 23-year-old Brazilian center back is currently in Germany at a clinic on the outskirts of Munich, where he underwent the ankle surgery earlier this year.

He is continuing his recovery work and the Lazio defender hopes to return to the training pitch as early as the 18th March, first carrying out individual work before re-joining the squad.

Luiz Felipe hopes to return for either the match against Hellas Verona on the 11th April or the home fixture against Benevento on the 18th April.

The 23-year-old’s return means that one player will have to be excluded from the Serie A player registration list in order to make space for the Brazilian.

Considering the club’s defensive issues in the last few weeks, coach Simone Inzaghi will be eagerly awaiting Luiz Felipe’s return.
