The talks have been helped by the excellent relationship between Lazio and Marusic’s agent.

Marusic, assuming no issues crop up, will renew his contract until 2026 and he’ll earn around €1.8 million net per season plus add-ons, doubling his current €900 thousand salary.

The player has been fundamental for coach Simone Inzaghi in the last year and president Claudio Lotito will only listen to offers of around €25-30 million for the 28-year-old.

Marusic, whose current deal expires in 2022, has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2644 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided five assists.
