Lazio Coach Inzaghi: “Caicedo Scored Another Important Goal Today, Great Player”

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi congratulated his squad on an important 3-2 win against Crotone earlier today.

Speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) after the game, the 44-year-old Italian coach spoke about today’s match.

Lazio had an excellent match but we made some important mistakes on the two goals and a team like ours can’t afford that. I congratulate the guys because we did well to win a very important game.

We changed the formation, the substitutes did very well, we had important chances like Milinkovic-Savic’s one and then we were able to win with Caicedo.

He discussed the importance of Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo.

Felipe knows the esteem I have for him, and it’s mutual. He’s a great player and a professional, he had some problems in January and February and he couldn’t train at his best, in that period there were three goals from Muriqi then we also have Correa and Immobile.

There’s a lot of competition in attack but Caicedo always tries to be ready, today he scored yet another important goal.

The Lazio coach moved onto discussing the slight goal drought of star forward Ciro Immobile.

It happens to attackers to go through a period without scoring, it’s a moment when the ball doesn’t enter the goal. Ciro now has to work and believe in himself.

Finally, Inzaghi spoke about the mistakes in today’s win.

The counter attack from a corner can be taken but on that occasion Fares made a mistake, he should have gone with the ball and it would have gone out.
