“Lazio Misses Immobile’s Goals” – Italian Football Pundit Comments on the Lazio Striker’s Cold Streak

Ciro Immobile’s goal drought has now hit six fixtures. The 31-year-old last scored on February 7, 2021, against Cagliari; since then, the Italian striker has hit a cold streak, which has also coincided with the Biancocelesti only winning two of their previous six matches. Furthermore, the club’s win over FC Crotone marks the first time in seven fixtures that Lazio has scored more than one goal.

Italian football pundit Gabriele De Bari spoke with Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), where he touched on his concerns for Lazio heading forward as Immobile’s cold streak continues.

Lazio misses Immobile’s goals. Without his goals, it isn’t easy to win. But it is serious that they conceded two goals against Crotone. Playing defensively should never end; two goals should be enough to win a game. But instead, they had to put three past Crotone to secure three points.

Lazio have no great alternatives, Caicedo played a great game, but it is not always like this. We expected an easier match, and instead, they had to suffer up to the last minute against the last place team in the standings. It is not a good sign; especially because of their upcoming opponents which are much more difficult.

Lazio is in a fight to finish in the top four as they currently sit six points out. If the Rome-based club wants any shot at capturing one of the UEFA Champions League spots for next season, they need Immobile.

The Biancocelesti can’t afford to keep scoring one goal per game and hope their defense holds to walk away with three points. Immobile will have to find his scoring boots soon.
