Lazio Director De Cosmi: “Bayern Must Be Respected but Priority Is the League”

Lazio technical director Roberto De Cosmi highlighted the importance of focusing on the remaining Serie A games this season.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, he first spoke about the win over Crotone last week.

Three fundamental points came against Crotone. This season has shown that even great teams can suffer against teams fighting to avoid relegation.

Certainly, we need to find the game and the unpredictability of the movements, but the return of some players like Radu can only be beneficial.

He then spoke about this week’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against Bayern Munich.

The match must be respected but Lazio’s priority is the league, there is little distance even virtually from fourth place. But Inzaghi will be in line with his playing principles against the Germans.

I don’t think there will be any changes, but I expect Caicedo and Pereira to be on the pitch from the first minute.

Finally, De Cosmi discussed Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo.

The team is scoring less than in previous years, but the Ecuadorian responds great every time he is called upon, scoring and giving the team points at crucial moments.
