Lazio’s Luis Alberto Again Snubbed by Spanish National Team for WC 2022 Qualifiers

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto has again been snubbed by the Spanish national team, not receiving a call-up for their upcoming games.

As seen on a post on the Spanish national team’s Twitter page earlier today, the full list of 24 players called up for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Greece, Georgia and Kosovo later this month were announced.

Biancocelesti midfielder Luis Alberto, who has scored eight goals and provided two assists this season for the Roman club across all competitions, was again absent from the squad, despite being an important part of coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad in both the league and Champions League.

Despite being one of Lazio’s stars in recent years, Luis Alberto has only ever received one cap for the Spanish national team, coming in a friendly against Costa Rica in 2017.
