Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge highlighted the German side’s respect for Lazio ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash.
Speaking in an interview earlier today, as reported by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the 65-year-old German spoke about tomorrow’s game and the Bavarian club’s mindset.
We are currently champions of everything, but our strength is made up of two factors. The first one is the great quality, the second one is that we enter the pitch respecting all the opponents, without the arrogance of thinking that we have already won.
In today’s football, with the current pandemic, there is no difference between home and away, it’s like playing on a neutral pitch. The important thing is to have respect for Lazio, as we did in Rome, as they were fourth in the table last season.
Bayern won the first leg in Rome 4-1, making this second leg in Germany all but a formality for Simone Inzaghi’s side.
