Ex-Bayern Midfielder Fink: “No Match Is a Foregone Conclusion From the Start”

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Thorsten Fink thought that Lazio may still have a slight chance in tomorrow’s Champions League clash against the Bavarian side.

Speaking in an interview on Lazio’s official website earlier today, the 53-year-old German commented on the Biancocelesti’s chances of overcoming the 4-1 deficit.

Of course, the match may seem decided, given the result of the first leg and the difference in values between the two teams.

In the Champions League, however, you always have to be careful, no match is a foregone conclusion from the start and history has shown that.

He touched on some of the changes that coach Hansi Flick will make in tomorrow’s game.

I think Flick will make at least two changes compared to the first leg. The Germans’ squad has so much quality that, even changing a few players, the level remains high.

Bayern Munich will certainly want to win this match as well to keep their reputation in Europe intact and send a signal to all the other teams.

Finally, Fink suggested that Bayern are still the favourites to win the entire tournament this season.

Bayern Munich can always win the Champions League. Obviously, it will depend on the team’s form and how many players will be available, the Champions League is often decided by the details.

If everything goes as planned, however, I expect Bayern to be a favourite until the end.
