Formello: Lazio’s Radu to Make His First Ever Champions League Start Tomorrow

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi will give veteran defender Stefan Radu his first ever Champions League start in tomorrow’s game against Bayern Munich.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 44-year-old Italian coach carried out tactical exercises in today’s training session in Formello, preparing for tomorrow’s Round of 16 second leg against the reigning European champions.

Inzaghi will give the 34-year-old Radu, who has been with Lazio since 2008, his first ever Champions League start in tomorrow’s game, starting him alongside Francesco Acerbi and Mateo Musacchio in the defense.

The left wing back is set to be Mohamed Fares, with Adam Marusic starting on the right. The midfield will be Gonzalo Escalante, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto.

Finally, Inzaghi has decided to start Felipe Caicedo alongside Ciro Immobile tomorrow, rewarding the Ecuadorian after his winning goal against Crotone last week. Joaquin Correa will be rested but may appear off the bench.
