Ex-Defender Paganin: “Lazio’s Games Against Bayern Are a Journey of Growth”

Former Inter and Atalanta defender Massimo Paganin highlighted the importance of today’s Champions League clash between Lazio and Bayern Munich.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster TMW Radio earlier today, the 50-year-old Italian spoke about how today’s Round of 16 second leg can help the Biancocelesti grow.

It’s a journey of growth, it’s important to get through games against top teams. But these are games that make you grow, they make you understand your limits. You just have to learn.

Then to concede four goals seems like a disaster. Mistakes are made when players are pushed to their limits.

In normal situations there aren’t any. You have to play openly, playing the game and not cowering in defense.

Lazio are heading into this evening’s Champions League clash against Bayern with a 4-1 deficit, having failed to impress against the Bavarian side in Rome last month.

Simone Inzaghi’s side will be looking for a positive performance today, even if it doesn’t result in progression to the next round.
