Sassuolo midfielder Filip Djuricic believes the Neroverdi can catch up with Lazio in the Serie A table this season.

Speaking in an interview as reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 29-year-old Serbian first spoke about his goals.

I want to score at least eight goals and we have ambitions of getting into the Europa League.

He then discussed today’s Serie A clash against Torino.

For them three points can be crucial, but we have to think that a win can change our lives. Someone above us has to slip up.

Finally, Djuricic spoke about the Biancocelesti and if Sassuolo can reach them in the league table.

But in the meantime, I think Lazio are within reach, we’ll have a direct home game and we can play for it.

The gap between the two teams is seven points and Sassuolo have already lost their first direct match at the Olimpico, but it doesn’t cost anything to dream.

In the same way as the Neroverdi, however, Lazio are looking ahead and certainly not behind.

The 29-year-old Djuricic has made 23 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1557 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided two assists.
