The Latest on Fares & Lazzari’s Injuries Sustained Against Bayern Munich

Lazio wing-backs Mohamed Fares and Manuel Lazzari were both taken off injured in yesterday’s Champions League loss to Bayern Munich, with one injury more serious than the other.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 25-year-old Fares was taken off at half time after feeling some discomfort in his knee, the same one that was operated on in 2019. He was replaced by Senad Lulic in the match.

The Algerian wing-back’s injury may be a sprain, and so he will undergo medical examinations over the coming hours to determine the seriousness of the injury.

Italian wing-back Manuel Lazzari was taken off after 57 minutes yesterday, suffering what seemed to be a dislocated or broken finger.

The 27-year-old is more relaxed now after calming down and is hopeful of returning in time for this weekend’s league clash against Udinese, an important match as Lazio look to fight for fourth in the league table.
