The Gran Galà del Calcio took place to commemorate players’ accomplishments in the 2019-20 season. When it came to Lazio, the Biancocelesti saw a couple of players and management win awards for what they did last season.
Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile saw their names in the ‘Top XI’ as the Italian Footballers’ Association picked the best eleven at every position from last season.
The 28-year-old Alberto had an outstanding campaign in 2019-20 as he scored seven goals and registered 17 assists in 41 appearances. The Spain international took to Twitter, where he spoke glowingly about his selection to the top XI.
It is an honor to have been chosen in the best XI of the 19/20 season. Thanks so much, AIC.

Meanwhile, Immobile won the golden boot race as the 31-year-old scored 36 goals in Serie A, 39 in all competitions for the Lazio striker. Furthermore, Immobile went on to win the Best Serie A player in 2019-20, and he spoke to Sky Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) to discuss his awards.
It is a great satisfaction, and I believe it is fair to reiterate that it must be shared with my teammates. They put me in a position to score 36 goals and equal Higuain’s record, win the Golden Boot, and earn the title of top scorer. Part of the credit goes to me, but a good part must be shared with them.
The two players played a vital role in Lazio finishing in the top four last season in Serie A. As a result, the Biancocelesti ended their 12 year UEFA Champions League drought.
