With Stefan Radu getting the nod to start in Lazio’s fixture against Udinese Calcio, the 34-year-old tied Giuseppe Favalli’s record for the most appearances with the Biancocelesti (401). The Romanian defender, who has been with Lazio for over a decade, has definitely experienced success. Despite Juventus winning most of the domestic titles since his arrival in 2008, Radu has been a part of a Lazio that has won three Coppa Italia awards and the Supercoppa Italiana on three different occasions.

Radu will have the opportunity to break the record for most appearances for Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico when the Rome-based club welcomes Spezia Calcio. The FIFA international break will cause Radu to wait, but the record is all but his at this point. Furthermore, Radu hasn’t let his age slow him down, considering he’s one of the better players on the pitch for Lazio. However, Radu’s contract does expire at the end of the season, so the Biancocelesti will have a decision to make on their soon-to-be club leader in appearances.
