Lazio Defeat Udinese 1-0: The Biancocelesti Player Ratings

Adam Marušić’s first-half strike for Lazio at the Dacia Arena was enough to give them all three points in their fixture against Udinese this past weekend. Below are the Biancocelesti player ratings.

Starting Eleven

Pepe Reina(7.5/10): It was a busy day for Pepe Reina as expected but he rose to the occasion. He denied Larsen by stopping his powerful shot on goal from the centre of the box to keep the Lazio lead alive. He acted like a wall in front of goal as he made 4 crucial saves.

Stefan Radu (8/10): It was a historic day for Laziali as Radu made his 401st appearance for the club, equaling Giuseppe Favalli for most appearances for Lazio. It was a good day at the office for the defender, as he was a menace for the hosts. He managed to win 3 duels, achieved a 100% tackle success rate, made 3 interceptions and managed 5 recoveries.

Francesco Acerbi (7.5/10): A rather quiet but solid performance from Acerbi who used his defensive instincts to help preserve the clean sheet for Lazio. Sent 5 accurate long balls from the back, managed 1 interception and 1 ball recovery each and made 7 clearances.

Patric (6.5/10): Solid in defence, made some runs from the right trying to support the attack as he sent in 11 accurate long balls and a key pass. Won 4 duels, succeeded in only one tackle out of attempted 3, made one recovery.

Adam Marušić (8/10): The man behind the three points for Lazio. He dribbled past opponents and he chose his moment and his spot. Although he couldn’t manage any crosses or key passes from the wide areas, his work rate was massive. Made 7 recoveries, won 3 duels out of 8, and conceded a foul.

Lucas Leiva (6/10): Couldn’t make much impact on the game, lasted 66 minutes on the pitch before being subbed off. Everyone expected a much better performance from him; he lost 3 aerial battles and 7 duels but had 2 interceptions and 7 ball recoveries.

Luis Alberto (6.8/10): A mediocre performance from the 28 year old. Played 74 minutes on the pitch and got 2 shots on target but they were saved by the Bianconeri Goalkeeper. Sent 4 accurate long balls and 2 key passes throughout his game but won just only 2 duels out of a attempted 11, got dispossessed several times and conceded 4 fouls.

Manuel Lazzari (6.5/10): Lazzari had the least touches (33) of any outfield player to play 90 minutes. He created 2 chances but didn’t have much impact on the game.

Sergej Milinkovic Savic (7.6/10): It was a good day at the office for Savic as he secured an assist for creating the goal for Marusic. He also executed a half volley towards the goal but took a deflection and the chance went begging, Surprisingly he lost the most duels (10) during the match.

Ciro Immbile (7.5/10): It was quite a good day for the Italian, apart from scoring a goal. He had a 100% dribble success rate, hit the woodwork and had a total of 7 total shots. He was subbed off in the 74th minute.

Vedat Muriqi (6/10): Muriqi was looking for some redemption as Laziali were not impressed by his performances in the recent games. However, it was another match below the standard performance from him. He managed to only create a single chance and win 2 of 4 aerial battles before being subbed off in 66th minute.

Substitutes

Jean Akpa Akpro (5.5/10): Came on the pitch in the 66th minute substituting Lucas Leiva. He made almost the same impact on the game as Leiva as he won 2 tackles, got dispossessed on time and conceded a foul.

Joaquin Correa (6/10): Played only the last 18 minutes of the game. Didn’t make quite an impact on the match. Made 2 recoveries and ended with a 50% one-on-one success rate.

Gonzalo Escalante (6.1/10): Subbed on for Muriqi in the 66th minute. Lost 4 one-on-one’s and 3 aerials. He probably couldn’t show his worth because of the defensive stand Lazio took in the second half.

Andreas Pereira (6.7/10): Came on the field in the 74th minute for Luis Alberto. Had a great amount of zest; he was literally everywhere on the pitch pressuring the Udinese players. Showed his extremely high work rate and made 3 recoveries but lost 5 one-on-one’s and conceded a foul.

Mateo Mussachio (5/10): Subbed on to play the last few minutes of the game. Didn’t make an impact on the game and conceded 2 fouls.
