Former Inter striker Christian Vieri does not think that Lazio are still in the running for a top-four finish in Serie A this season.
Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 47-year-old Italian first spoke about the battle for top-four.
In addition to Inter, Milan and Juventus, Atalanta, Roma and Napoli are also in the running.
He then touched on why Italian teams disappointed in the Champions League this season.
We failed because Atalanta and Lazio cannot compete with Real and Bayern. And because Juve and Inter had to play better; adapt to the Champions League and have more quality.
Finally, Vieri spoke about the difference between Ciro Immobile’s performances with Lazio and the Italian national team.
Scoring a lot of goals means being able to solve games and Immobile won a Golden Shoe. But scoring goals in your own club is not enough, you have to prepare and be ready.
Mancini will study them and three days before the game he will have to decide who is fitter. And I’m happy to leave this matter to him.
