Italian Journalist Petrucci: “Feeling From Formello Is That Inzaghi Will Renew With Lazio”

Italian journalist Matteo Petrucci was convinced that coach Simone Inzaghi would sign a new contract with Lazio.

Speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Petrucci highlighted the current atmosphere at the training ground in Formello.

What’s coming out of Formello is that in the end the renewal will come, even if it will be difficult. There’s a clear feeling that Inzaghi and the club are taking their time.

There are no meetings on the horizon for the moment; no set appointments. The possibility is that it will come at the end of the season.

The question is whether Inzaghi and the club have any intention of continuing together…

Reports in the Italian media recently have suggested that the 44-year-old Inzaghi may look to leave the Biancocelesti at the end of the season, with Aurelio De Laurentiis’ Napoli interested in bringing him in to replace the outgoing Gennaro Gattuso.

President Claudio Lotito refused to comment on the situation earlier, and has already began work on finding possible replacements, just in case Inzaghi doesn’t sign the new deal.
