Italian Journalist Piccinini: “For Now Lazio Are Insufficient in Serie A”

Italian journalist Sandro Piccinini was unsure if coach Simone Inzaghi would remain with Lazio beyond this season.

Speaking in an interview with TMW Radio earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian first spoke about the Biancocelesti’s results on the pitch so far this season.

If we only look at the league it’s disappointing, but there are some extenuating circumstances. One is linked to the Champions League and the price we had to pay to get to the Round of 16.

And then Covid, with the many absences suffered. There are extenuating circumstances, but the numbers are merciless. For now, they’re insufficient in the league.

Piccinini then discussed if Inzaghi will sign a contract renewal with Lazio or if he’ll leave in the summer.

It’s complicated, it’s probably a question of money but the results don’t help Simone. A champion like Lotito could pull the plug.
