Lazio Look to the Eredivisie to Strengthen Its Backline: Three Possible Options Identified

Lazio are looking to the Eredivisie to find reinforcements for their defense this summer, with three players in particular catching the Biancocelesti’s attention.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Lazio would look to revitalize their defense this summer should they achieve Champions League qualification.

Luiz Felipe and Francesco Acerbi have their positions secured, and Stefan Radu has shown that he is still perfectly capable, but there is still much doubt about the other defensive options.

Among the names being considered from the Eredivisie is Ajax centre back Lisandro Martinez. The 23-year-old Argentinian is valued at around €18 million but an offer of €12 million may be enough to secure his services. He can play on both flanks as well as in the middle of the defense.

Another option is 23-year-old Argentinian defender Marcos Senesi, who is contracted to Feyenoord until 2023. He is valued at around €20 million.

Finally, Lazio are also following 23-year-old Algerian Ahmed Touba, who is contracted to RKC Waalwijk until 2023. He’s currently worth around €600,000 and holds a Belgian passport, meaning he doesn’t take up a non-EU spot in the squad.
