Lazio wing-back Adam Marusic is in talks with the Biancocelesti over a new contract lasting until 2026.
According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 28-year-old Montenegrin has found a new life in Rome since the post-lockdown period of last season, being an important part of coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad.
Marusic has featured in all but one league game this campaign and has featured on both wings as well as in the back three, being tactically versatile and comfortable across the pitch.
The 28-year-old’s current deal expires with the Biancocelesti in 2022, and so the club are already in talks with his agent Mateja Kezman regarding a new deal.
Current talks suggest a five-year contract lasting until 2026, with his salary rising from €800,000 to €1.6m.
There is no shortage of interest from top clubs around Europe, which is why Lazio are looking to protect their player and ensure he remains a consistent part of Inzaghi’s team.
