Lazio battled its way to a 1-0 Serie A win over Udinese on the team’s matchday 27. The performance itself from Lazio was not dominant, but the side did just enough to score a goal and hold off Udinese for a clean sheet victory.
Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso notes that Lazio was the favorites heading into the match. But overall, he did not see that Lazio came away with a deserving win in the match. Musso spoke further to Udinese TV (via Cittaceleste) about the takeaways that he took from the fixture.
Against Lazio, it was not a well-deserved defeat. We played great against a team stronger than us, doing more good than bad things. But we don’t feel stronger or weaker than anyone.
Lazio, in addition to the goal, did not create many scoring chances, unlike us. We grew a lot in the offensive phase and we could have hurt. Lazio collected a lot based on the very compact defensive phase.
Both teams still have much to play for over the remainder of the season. Lazio aims for a top-four finish in the final league standings while Udinese looks to secure a spot in the top half of the league table.
