Lazio Re-Ignite Interest in River Plate Star With Celta Vigo & Valencia Also Keen

Lazio have joined Spanish sides Celta Vigo and Valencia in their interest in River Plate forward Rafael Santos Borré.

According to a report from Argentinian media outlet TNT Sports earlier this week, the Biancocelesti were interested in signing the 25-year-old Colombian in the summer transfer window last year but didn’t make any concrete moves for the exciting forward.

Lazio have now re-ignited their interest in Santos Borré, with both Celta Vigo and Valencia also keen, but there are two obstacles that may cause an issue.

The first is that the Colombian does not have a European passport, meaning that he would occupy a non-EU spot in the squad list.

The second issue is that Santos Borré is grateful to River Plate and wants the club to collect a substantial sum from his sale.

In order to achieve this, the two parties are working on renewing his contract with the club, with River Plate promising to allow him to leave should a convincing offer come in. His current deal expires with the Argentinian side at the end of the season.
