Lazio president Claudio Lotito highlighted the Biancocelesti’s sadness at the passing of Primavera midfielder Daniel Guerini.
In an official statement released yesterday, the Lazio president spoke highly of the 19-year-old Italian.
Today was an extraordinarily sad day for our club. Our colours are in mourning, there were no smiles on the boys’ faces. Daniel was a wonderful guy, appreciated by all who knew him for his human qualities even more than for his footballing ones.
He had what it takes to become a good professional, embodying those values of loyalty and fairness that are the basis of the education of every player.
Lazio is a big family that today is grief-stricken, but knows that the memory of Daniel will always be kept alive, the memory of a young champion who died too soon.
The 19-year-old Guerini sadly passed away earlier this week after his Smart car was involved in a traffic collision at a junction in Rome.
