Andreas Pereira was hoping for a fresh start and an opportunity to prove himself as he moved away from Manchester United FC to Lazio.

The 26-year-old expected to reach his potential; however, the move to Serie A hasn’t gone as either side had planned. Furthermore, Lazio most likely won’t pay the €27-million option on Pereira’s loan. Nonetheless, it doesn’t mean his future with the Biancocelesti is over.

Corriere dello Sport (via Lazio News) reports that The Red Devils want to part ways with the player and have him on their sale list. With Manchester United looking to part ways with Pereira, perhaps Lazio can negotiate with the English club to lower the asking price. However, the supporters feel that Pereira hasn’t received a fair shot, so they’d like to keep him around.

Nonetheless, Pereira has failed to convince manager Simone Inzaghi, which is why the 26-year-old has made only two starts in Serie A and is averaging 19 minutes per game in Italy’s top-flight league.

It will be interesting to see what Lazio decides to do with Pereira in the coming months…
