Lazio Forward Muriqi Fails to Make the Difference in Kosovo’s 3-0 Loss to Sweden

Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi failed to make the difference in Kosovo’s 3-0 loss to Sweden yesterday.

Starting in Kosovo’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Sweden, the 26-year-old Biancocelesti forward played the full 90 minutes of the loss, not impressing as the side lost their first qualifying match of the campaign.

The 26-year-old Muriqi took two shots in the match, with neither being on target. He drew three fouls, was offside three times, made one cross, and picked up a yellow card for a foul after only six minutes.

His pass completion rate was only 71%, he completed two dribbles and he won four aerial duels, showing his consistent aerial dominance.

Muriqi has struggled to make an impact in Rome this campaign, scoring only two goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for the Biancocelesti, disappointing considering the significant investment made to bring him over to the Italian capital.
