Lazio Lawyer Gentile: “Clearly Some Sort of Fraud Made Against Us by Torino”

Lazio lawyer Gian Michele Gentile was not impressed with the Court of Appeals’ decision to not award the Biancocelesti a 3-0 forfeit win over Torino.

Speaking with Italian news outlet La Presse (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Gentile discussed the court’s decision to confirm that Lazio will play Torino at a later date this season.

It is necessary to read the motivations. It’s clearly a sort of fraud made against Lazio, but the sporting system can do nothing to intervene on the measures of the Local Health Authority.

Let’s see now what the Federal Prosecutor’s Office does. This is a very serious motivation against Torino. Now we’ll study the papers well and then we’ll decide whether to go ahead. I probably think that now Torino will go ahead.

Lazio’s clash against Torino on the 2nd March was postponed after the Granata failed to show up to the Stadio Olimpico. A few days prior, their match against Sassuolo was postponed due to a serious outbreak of Covid-19 in the squad.
