Formello: Lazio Midfielder Luis Alberto Picks Up Injury in Today’s Training Match

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto suffered an injury in a practice match during today’s training session at Formello.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 28-year-old Spaniard played a pass to Italian midfielder Danilo Cataldi in the training match, but upon receiving the return ball he was the victim of a strong challenge by young defender Nicolo Armini.

Luis Alberto was left on the ground in pain and raised his arm to ask the Biancocelesti medical staff to intervene. He was hit on the inside of his right knee, with his foot hitting the ground and his ankle twisting.

That came at the end of today’s training session, the last one with players still away on national duty.

Lazio hope that Luis Alberto’s injury is nothing serious and that it’s just a simple contusion with no major sprains.

Coach Simone Inzaghi will oversee two more training sessions before this weekend’s Serie A clash against Spezia.
