Lazio’s Offer for Experienced Trabzonspor Defender Declined

Lazio have submitted an offer for Trabzonspor defender Vitor Hugo but it has been declined by the Turkish club.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti made a €5 million offer for the 29-year-old Brazilian defender, but it was declined as Trabzonspor are very satisfied with the player’s performances this season.

The Turkish side spent €3.2 million to bring in Vitor Hugo from Palmeiras in last summer’s transfer window and he has not disappointed, scoring four goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Super Lig side.

A left-footed defender, the former Fiorentina man would play on the left side of a three-man defense, in the spot currently occupied by Romanian veteran Stefan Radu, whose contract expires at the end of this season.

Vitor Hugo is good at marking players, is physically strong and good at playing out from the back, although sometimes he lacks concentration.

Sporting director Igli Tare has added the player onto the list for now and is continuing to evaluate various options, but it’s clear that defensive reinforcements will arrive this summer.
