Lazio Closely Following Promising Spezia Left-Back for Possible Summer Swoop

Lazio are closely following Spezia left-back Simone Bastoni as they look to strengthen the left-wing back role this summer.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are preparing to reinforce the left wing-back role as captain Senad Lulic will be leaving the club at the end of the season after his contract expires, leaving only Adam Marusic and Mohamed Fares in the role.

The 24-year-old Bastoni has impressed so far this season with Spezia, but negotiations for a contract renewal have slowed down with the club’s change of ownership, and with his contract expiring in 2022, the Biancocelesti are hopeful of acquiring the Italian this summer.

Tomorrow Lazio will face Spezia at the Stadio Olimpico and the Roman club will be able to see Bastoni’s qualities first hand.
