Lazio’s fixture against Spezia Calcio will be a historic one for the Biancocelesti. As soon as Ștefan Radu steps onto the Stadio Olimpico pitch, the 34-year-old will cement his legacy in the record books for Lazio as he becomes the leader for most appearances.

At the moment, Radu finds himself tied with Giuseppe Favalli at 401 appearances, but as soon as he plays a minute against Spezia, Radu will be the sole leader at 402.

He spoke about breaking the record and cementing his legacy with the Rome-based club during his appearance with The Lazio Style Channel (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

It will be an exciting and historic afternoon and match; I will have played 402 games and will be overtaking Beppe Favalli, but leaving aside this personal record, today we must have a great match.

It will be a tough match, we have analyzed them well over the past few days. They are a very organized team, have good tactics, and they gave us many problems in the first leg.

We are used to stops for the national teams; we have many players who go to the national team. It’s a small problem for everyone, not just for us.

Despite writing his name in the Lazio record books this afternoon in Rome, Radu understands that the three points are essential. It’s why he’d like to see a win to go along with him taking sole possession atop the appearance record.

The win and three points would be the cherry on top for what will be a historic night for Radu.
