The ongoing contract extension discussions between Lazio and manager Simone Inzaghi continue as both parties have yet to reach an agreement. The Italian tactician has expressed his desire to remain with the Biancocelesti. Furthermore, management has also stated their preference to keep Inzaghi.
Nonetheless, neither side has blinked or met the other’s demands that results in an agreement. During an interview with DAZN (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio sporting director Igli Tare spoke about where discussions are with Inzaghi.
“[Inzaghi] doesn’t need to say it; he knows he’s the club’s first choice and doesn’t need confirmation. This is a relationship, both professional and personal, so I think there will be no difficulties for his renewal with Lazio.
At some point, one side will have to blink. Both parties want to remain together, but there are apparent disagreements that prevent a deal from occurring. With the season inching closer towards the finish line, someone will need to blink first.
Whether that’s Inzaghi or Lazio, nonetheless, there needs to be a resolution to this matter as the Italian side wants to begin preparations for the 2021-22 season, and they’ll want to count on their manager.
