A few days ago, Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reported that Lazio was monitoring Spezia Calcio defender Simone Bastoni, as they continue to try and properly reinforce its left flank.

During his interview with DAZN (via Lazio News), the topic of Lazio’s interest surfaced, and the Italian media outlet asked the 24-year-old about possibly heading to Rome next season.

The interest from Lazio? This is nice, but now, the important thing is to finish the season well with Spezia.

Like any good professional, Bastoni sidestepped the question and gave the cliche response. Bastoni wants to focus on the current season as Spezia sits seven points from the relegation zone. Hence, they want to finish strong to remain in Serie A.

Nonetheless, Bastoni played 65 minutes for Spezia as this match was an opportunity for the defender to showcase his talents. Furthermore, it gave Lazio a first-hand chance to scout the player.

The Italy international had 45 touches, went 20 for 27 on his passes and had two key passes during his time out on the pitch.
