After a sluggish run of Serie A performances, Lazio seems to have hit its stride at the right time in the ongoing campaign. The Biancocelesti has now reeled off three straight league wins, which includes the recent 2-1 victory over Spezia.

Former Italian goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani is conflicted with Lazio’s recent form. While Lazio is now getting back to its winning ways, Marchegiani is concerned with Ciro Immobile’s goal-scoring slump.

In speaking to Sky Sport (via Cittaceleste), Marchegiani touched on Lazio’s chances of reaching the top-four in the league standings and Immobile’s recent play.

Lazio are doing well. It’s normal; their history tells us that when they can focus on a single goal, they always get great results.

It is a pity that Immobile has not been doing well. I understand that at this moment of the season, tiredness weighs so much.

The Biancocelesti are absolutely in the running for the Champions League. The recovery match against Torino will be very important.

Immobile still sits at 14 league goals this season. The forward’s chances of finishing the campaign as the leading goal-scorer have been dwindling. Still, he has plenty of time to turn the tide on his season.
