Lazio Will Not Exercise €27m Buy Option on Manchester United-Owned Loanee

Lazio will not exercise the €27 million buy option on Manchester United-owned loanee Andreas Pereira.

According to a report from Italian journalist Nicolò Schira on Twitter earlier today, the Biancocelesti are not looking to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian permanently, with the player set to return to Manchester at the end of the season.

Pereira has struggled to make an impact in Rome since arriving on loan last year, having only started five games across all competitions so far this season under coach Simone Inzaghi.

Many fans expected the 45-year-old Italian coach to utilize the 25-year-old Brazilian more, but he has struggled for consistent minutes and therefore would not be worth his €27 million buy option for the Biancocelesti.

Lazio are open to the idea of renewing his loan deal next season as well, but currently, nothing concrete on this front has occurred.

Pereira has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 665 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided three assists.
